Genesis Owusu, Courtney Barnett & More Among 2022 AIR Awards Nominees

Confirmed to return to Adelaide later this year, the AIR Awards has unveiled its 2022 nominees.

Once again taking place in South Australia alongside the Indie-Con Australia Conference and celebrating the country’s independent music sector, the invite-only event will take over Freemasons Hall on August 4.

Genesis Owusu, Courtney Barnett, Amyl & The Sniffers, The Jungle Giants and more are among those picking up multiple nominations.

“We look forward to welcoming our members and speakers to Adelaide for the 2022 Indie-Con Australia Conference and AIRAwards and thank the South Australian Government for their continued support,” AIR CEO Maria Amato said.

South Australian Minister for Arts, Andrea Michaels MP, added: “Music – be it recorded or live – plays such a huge part of our lives, and has a significant impact on our culture, wellbeing and on our economy. I would like to congratulate the nominees this year and look forward to welcoming delegates from around the country back to Adelaide.”
