2 Chainz: Biography and music career

2 Chainz (Tu Chains) is an American hip-hop artist, also formerly known as Tity Boi. Initially, he was associated with Ludacris, but after changing his pseudonym, he quickly became a world-famous artist.

He started rapping in 1997 with Dolla Boy as a duet Playaz Circle, and over time they met Ludacris, who was becoming a celebrity. Over time, he offered them a contract with his label Disturbing Tha Peace. However, at the same time, Dolla Boy went to jail, and 2 Chainz survived an attempt on his life, so in fact, until 2007, they did not record any material.

In 2007, Playaz Circle released their debut album Supply & Demand,” and Chains also recorded the mixtape “Me Against The World.” In 2009, the second album of the group “Flight 360” was released, and then Titi Boy mixtapes - “Trap-a-velli ” and “All Ice On Me.” In 2010, he released sequels for “Trap-a-velli” and “Me Against The World,” and in 2011, mixtapes “Codeine Cowboy” and “TRU REALigion,” the second - after changing his nickname with Tity Boi at 2 Chainz. The change of pseudonym turned out by the way since this release hit the Billboard charts. Chains signed a solo contract with Def Jam and released in 2012 the album “Based on a TRU Story,” which became gold and spawned several major hits. The second studio album, “ BOATS II: Me Time,”  was released in 2013 and sold over 200,000 copies.

In 2014, 2 Chainz released the teip “Freebase,” and in 2015 - “ TRU Jack City”  (together with their band The Real University) and “Trap-a-velli Tre.”


He graduated with honors and also showed excellent results in the local basketball team;

Participates in the show Most Expensivest Shit, where he tests the most expensive things in the world (food, cars, clothes, etc.);

He has two daughters - Heaven and Harmony;

His height is 196 centimeters, which makes him one of the tallest rappers in the world;

Among the listeners of Chains there is a joke that he writes the best lines exclusively on guest couplets;

He lives in a two-story garage house, which he dedicated to one of the special issues of the YouTube channel, “Noisey.”
